Tangrams are ancient Chinese geometric puzzles consisting of seven pieces, each of which has three or four sides. Since the sides of these shapes are proportional, tangrams are used to explore many aspects of Geometry. Students use these puzzles to develop problem solving skills, explore and analyze geometric shapes, dimensions, and spatial relationships.
